Story of a picture & Melody of a portrait : “ Look slowly ” by Bottega del Suono
A message and a question …
Recently, I have received a DM from one of my followers, joined by one of my posts, also still recently posted. A post that I have titled: “Melody of a portrait”. And I think, a title, a bit thought out, like a new name for a series of self-portraits, for which I would like, sometimes, that some of my self-portraits, can be part of.
So I have received this message :
I have been surprised to receive this message, I must say. To receive and read this question. So smart, and so spontaneously requiring to be introspective about yourself.
Surprised, but also, very touched and very grateful.
First of all, I very much appreciated the thoughtfulness of the wording of this message : both a respect for my person and for what I may or may not wish to share more, explain more, sometimes and more personally.
I thanked this follower, both for his question, but also for the thoughtfulness of these words.
Then, I answered him, that I was going to try to answer him, although emotions were already coming to me when I was thinking about it. But that I was going, first, to try to give myself some time for personal reflection before, on this question and on how to answer it. For me, with a certain balance : to say, to talk about it but, without saying too much.
Finally, after that first moment of personal reflection, I felt myself, more inspired to make it a collective sharing, rather than just an individual sharing. Here, in this blog post, that it also inspired me then, I come back to this collective sharing, but also personal for all what it recalls to me.
Welcome to a new episode of "Story of a picture", but also here of "Melody of a portrait".
The music score : “ Look Slowly ” by Bottega del Suono” for “ Non Uccidere ” (an Italian TV series, 2017 - 2018)
About the music accompanying my self-portrait
For this “ Melody of a portrait ”, my self-portrait is here accompagnied by a music score untitled “ Look Slowly ”, composed by Bottega del Suono, for “ Non Uccidere”, an Italian TV series, namely starring as the main character (Valeria Ferro) , the Italian actress, Miriam Leone, and which aired, in Italy first, on Rai 3, between 2017 and 2018. In English, this Italian TV series has been untitled “ Thou Shal Not Kill”.
The music is then so from Bottega del Suono.
An Italian artistic musical collaboration, between two main musicians : Pierangelo Fornaro and Corrado Carosio. Their artistic collaboration started in 1998, when they founded Bottega del Suono, as a music production house. Since then, Bottega del Sunono, have composed the soundtracks of many : TV series, short films, commercials and plays.

For the TV Italian series “ Non Uccidere ”, Bottega del Suono have composed its music scores. Whose the main title “ Nu Opening ”, but also, for instance, “ Look Slowly ”, which is a kind of slower variation of the main theme.
“ Melody of a Portrait ” : how this music score talked and talks to me and how I came up to compose myself, inspired, this own and another, artistic and emotional composition.
Both and all in one, this music score and the story, the character, the fights, the values, the pains, the hard efforts, the strengh but also the vulnerability, of Valeria, the main character, have talked to me.
I’ve recognized her inner pains and fights, her values, her determination, and again, challenging herself even more, both ther strength and her vulnerability.
This story and series is extremely hard. Untill now, I’ve remained attached and compassionate about the character of Valeria.
The music of Bottega del Suono accompanies this whole narration.
There are musics which talk to you innerly, strongly, and beautifully.
Musicians are priceless artists and humans in our world, and even more, in our current era.
Music & Photography : two universal languages of communication, whose of emotional communication.
Pictures, our pictures, words, choices of melodies and musics to accompagny them.
Of course, and for sure, they talk, they can talk, they say or let think and wonder, about some things, inner things, thoughts and stories.
